Joselu is living every fan's dream having sent Real Madrid into the Champions League final - two years after watching them lift the trophy.

The 34-year-old fired two late goals against Bayern Munich to inspire Los Blancos to another dramatic comeback triumph at the Bernabeu - having done the same to Manchester City in the semis when they last became European champions.

Real were on the verge of a semi-final exit following Alponhso Davies' second half stunner, but Joselu was on hand on to turn the game on its head.

Joselu - a lifelong fan of Madrid - is only on loan at the club from Espanyol, but has still managed to bang in 17 goals in all competitions.

Few would have expected him to have enjoyed the stunning season he has had so far - especially after he flattered to deceive in England at Newcastle and Stoke.

Between both teams, the Spaniard mustered just ten Premier League goals in three seasons - but he is well and truly Real's hero now.

It comes just two years after Joselu was in attendance in Paris with his father to witness Real beat Liverpool in the 2022 Champions League final.

The CBS Sports panel were quick to comment on Joselu's journey, as ex-Manchester City full-back Micah Richards said: "It's just magic, isn't it? It's magical, it really is, what a story that is."

Five of Joselu's strikes this season have now come in the Champions League.

Incredibly, four of his goals have come against German opposition, with the 2023 Nations League winner also hitting a double against Union Berlin.

And Joselu has also become just the third player in Champions League history after Georginio Wijnaldum in May 2019 and Rodrygo in May 2022 to score twice as a substitute in a semi-final clash.

Real boss Carlo Ancelotti was quick to praise the centre-forward following the thriller, as he told TNT Sports: "We believed.

"Joselu did a fantastic job. He is a fantastic striker. We did really well and had a lot of energy at the end of the game."

Meanwhile Jude Bellingham joked that his teammate will most likely have a stinker in training tomorrow as he praised him for his vital role in the squad.

He remarked: "I’ve always said it doesn’t matter who scores the goals. I don’t think he’ll be sleeping much tonight - he’ll be useless in training tomorrow!

“Nah, honestly, he deserves it. He’s been an amazing member of the squad the whole season. This is his night.”
