Joselu deserves to enjoy every moment of 'his night' in the Champions League - even if it means he's useless in training.

That's the view of Jude Bellingham, who cracked a cheeky joke while paying a heartwarming tribute to the former Stoke player following their dramatic win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final.

Los Blancos substitute Joselu netted a quick-fire double late on to snatch a 2-1 victory on the night and 4-3 win on aggregate to send his side into the final at Wembley.

Bellingham insists his teammate more than earned all the praise he's getting... even if it means he'll be slightly worse for wear on Thursday morning.

When asked by TNT Sports' Laura Woods whether Los Blancos were set on not letting any side come to the Bernabeu to knock them out he said: "Yeah well we've seen it a lot of times this season where it looked like we was dead and buried.

"It doesn't matter who scores the goals but someone always manages it you know, that mentality of never say die."

Speaking about the hero on the night, Joselu, he laughed and said: "I don't think [Joselu] will be sleeping much tonight! He'll be useless in training tomorrow!"

"But honestly he deserves it all," he continued. "He's been an amazing member of the squad throughout the whole season.

"This is his night."

The Spain international had been on the pitch for just seven minutes when he fired his side level to make it 1-1 after coming on for Federico Valverde. He then went on to spectacularly net the winner in added time.

His two goals in the tie marked his 15th and 16th of the campaign following 46 appearances in all competitions.

It's likely he'd have celebrated his Champions League heroics well into the night, with his underwhelming time at Stoke City and Newcastle from 2015 to 2019 now a distant memory.

Three more of his goals this term came in the Champions League group stages, with one coming in the 4-2 victory over Napoli and a double coming against Union Berlin in Los Blancos' 3-2 win.

The 34-year-old Espanyol loanee's time at Real Madrid is set to expire next month.

But for now, he'll be focusing on hoping to play a role in his side's trip to the Home of Football where they will face Borussia Dortmund.
