Former Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam has expressed his delight after Owen Oyston’s exit from Bloomfield Road.
The 33-year-old spent three seasons with the Seasiders from 2008 to 2011 and helped them gain promotion to the Premier League.
Adam played 98 games for the Tangerines, scoring 34 goals before Liverpool snapped him up for £6.75 million. He now plays for Championship side Stoke City.
The Scotland international has spoken about his delight about what is happening at his former club now and is looking forward to going to watch Blackpool, as per a report by Lancashire Live: “I’m really looking forward to going back because it’s a long time since I’ve been there.”
“My kids have never been there, and I look forward to taking them and showing them what we achieved. I’m hoping to catch a game between now and the end of the season and enjoy the atmosphere”
Adam also refused to rule out a return to Bloomfield Road in some capacity one day: “No, absolutely not. Blackpool is where I felt I played my best football. If ever there was a manager’s capacity or a coaching capacity, you never know what the future brings. But ruling out a return? Absolutely not”.
The crowds are expected to flock back to Blackpool this weekend with over 11,000 tickets sold for their home game against Southend United following the exit of their owners.
